You may choose whatever one, brief memory (Less than a day) you would like to return to your shinki character and they will suddenly remember it at a time of your choosing. Random Memory (Medium) Similar to the "Random Memory" above. This would be one random memory regained from the shinki's time alive/in their own world. You may choose one memory (one full day up to one week) you would like to return to your shinki character and they will suddenly remember it at a time of your choosing. Small Object This regain would allow you to have your character suddenly find a small object from their home world in their room. It must be no bigger than a car - essentially, it must be able to fit in the room of your character. Note: object regains will not carry memory regains attached to them. Large Object Similar to the small object, this allows you to have your character suddenly have a large object from their home. There is no limit to how large, aside from the fact that it must fit on the planet earth. Otherwise, the sky is the limit! Note: object regains will not carry memory regains attached to them. Single Person This will allow your shinki character to remember everything about a single person from their past. That includes any time they have spent with that person as well. Anything not involving that specific person will still be a complete mystery to them, though. Reverse Death This regain allows you to reverse the memory loss that comes with a character dying in this setting. They will remember everything from their time here previous to their death very suddenly and painfully, but at least they'll remember everything now. Note: if you wish some in-game memories to be missing or cloudy after the regain, that is fine. Private Meeting with Pantheon While this opportunity is meant for Gods to get in touch with the NPCs from their original pantheon before they were incarnated to the Far Shore (with the Japanese pantheon), it is possible for a Shinki to pay for this benefit on behalf of their God as well. This can be a request for a thread with an NPC, or an OOC discussion about similar topics, including the chance of metaplot hints where relevant. Private Meeting with Heaven Specifically, you will be allowed to have a private meeting with Amaterasu herself or one of her counselors, who do not hold private meetings with anyone and instead stick to seeing others in large, social gatherings. If you have something important to ask them privately, this is the way to do it. This includes the chance of metaplot hints where relevant. Dramatic Lighting This is a more specific version of the Extra Power regain. This would grant any player the right to make Rule of Cool work for their character so that they get a dramatic entrance if they really mean business, or right before their big attack, you know - big action hero events. Be it a flash of lightning, wind through the trees, flickering overhead lights, this can be changed up depending on the circumstance. Alternate Form This is a more specific version of the Extra Power regain, granting a God character an ability similar to how Ōkuninushi can transform into a monstrous spider. What this form is, that is up to the player, but must be specified at the time of the Regain request. The alternate form can include partial changes to the god's existing body as well: mermaid tails, tauric creature lower bodies, wings, arms into claws, sprouting horns, etc. Extra Power The label says it all. This would allow your character to have an extra power aside from the one that they were assigned upon apping into the game. This power is also available to any canon gods/shinki as well. Custom Spell (Tier 1) This represents a shinki gaining enough skill to not simply use the existing spells but to create a new Tier 1 spell through research and perseverance. The spell must have a unique effect not currently represented by an existing spell, which we will check as part of the Approval process. After the Custom Spell is approved, it can be taught to other characters like all other spells using the rules detailed on the Shinki Spells and Songs page. Custom Spell (Tier 2) Just like the Custom Spell (Tier 1) Regain, except the custom spell being crafted can be on par with the power level of other Tier 2 spells. Custom Spell (Tier: Special) Just like the Custom Spell (Tier 2) Regain, except the custom spell being crafted can be on par with the power level of other Special spells, which are more like rituals and require at least 2 shinki to perform them together. Offerings Conversion Instead of regaining an item from a character's canon, this is a way to give your character a small item they never had in the first place. This could be a small item that mysteriously happens to include minor magical effects, or a mundane real-world item from the Near Shore to aid or perplex the recipient - such as food, clothing, jewelry, running shoes, a chair, incense, money, you name it! In the case of money as the “special item" being Regained, it should be an abnormally large amount, to make the amount worthy of the cost of the Regain. In-game, this represents the sum total of a God's offerings over a period of time. Within the multitude of junk and incidental things the god receives, perhaps the wood / straw that started an offering fire or the netting around a drowned offering, your character can find the special item. The offering should relate to the God's domain; a God of farming might get tools, a God of the sea might get pearls, a God of beauty might get makeup, etc. The special item the god character finds can be written up by the player (subject to mod approval) or it can be left up to the mods to supply 3 options and the player must select one option. Shrine on Near Shore A Shrine represents a coalescence of a God's power and influence; within the immediate area lives many of the God's followers, so it is a place on the Near Shore that the God would be called to very often. This is why the God can use such a Shrine to teleport between the Far Shore and Near Shore, as well as grant permission to other Far Shore residents to do the same. Smaller altars to the God may exist on the Near Shore, but they do not grant the Teleportation power. One of these Shrines is automatically granted upon the God's arrival in the Far Shore; that Shrine is located somewhere in Japan. Every regained Shrine after the automatically granted 1st Shrine can exist anywhere on the Near Shore - aka Earth. That Shrine should be located within a country that has a historical or current representation of worshippers to that God's pantheon. For example, a God from the Buddhist pantheon could place their first Shrine anywhere in India, China, Korea, Japan, etc. This can be regained multiple times; in order to have this reflected on the Locations page, be sure to link the Regain Approval message when you respond to the Locations page. Purification Springs These springs can take any form you like, up to a maximum of 25' x 25' square or 7.62m x 7.62m, with the water deep enough to bathe in. The water magically appears from a source which is purified, such that most non-severe Blight can be cleaned off. This can be regained multiple times; the first spring must always be located at the Temple in the Far Shore, while subsequent Springs can be added any of your God's Shrines on the Near Shore. In order to have this reflected on the Locations page, be sure to link the Approval message when you specify which Shrine gained the Springs. Shrine-bound Guardian Spirit NPC Similar to Tenjin's Plum Tree Spirit Tsuyu, this Guardian Spirit NPC can take physical form and speak to Far Shore beings with a level of sentience appropriate to their mythos. We encourage characters to draw from the pantheon of the God when choosing what sort of Guardian Spirit might be regained. The only requirement is that the Spirit must not be eligible as a deity that a God character could request to represent. They cannot speak to the God character over any distance outside of normal hearing range, nor does the God character sense when the Guardian Spirit might be in danger as with Shinki. While the actions of a God or Shinki can attract the attention of such a Guardian Spirit, whichever Shrine that the Spirit attaches to must belong to a God with at least 2 Shrines present on the Near Shore. (1 of them can be the automatically granted one.) Improved Shinki Connection This requires the permission and power of both a god and one their shinki. If this particular shinki with the Improved Connection was feeling sad, the God would know it was from that shinki they were getting the emotional impression, instead of the much more vague emotional feeling that "one of my shinki is sad". Conversely, blight from this particular shinki with the Improved Connection spreads faster to their God with this Improved Connection. Long-Distance Shinki Calling This requires the permission and power of both a god and one their shinki. This God can call this particular shinki from a greater distance than normal hearing range: up to 1,500 miles or 2,400 km. This shinki must still be willing to answer the God's call in order for them to appear in vessel form at this God's side or in their hand. Please note that players of gods and shinki both may ask for memory regains for any shinki. If you are requesting a regain for someone other than yourself, we simply ask that you seek their permission regarding the regain and also what memory/memories are being regained. Once you have requested a regain, the exp/followers for the regain will be subtracted from the current Available Points your character has. Essentially, you are buying regains by using your continued activity in the game, rather than the Total they've accumulated throughout the game. See the Monthly Tag Counts for your character's Available points versus their Total points. To request a regain, simply fill out the form below and post it as a comment: <b>Character Requesting:</b> <b>Character Regaining:</b> (if different from character requesting) <b>Current Followers/EXP:</b> <b>Regain Type:</b> <b>Regain Cost:</b> <b>Regain Specifics:</b> (detail what exactly it is that you are regaining, whether it is a memory or an object) Title Total to Qualify Hafuri 10,000 exp God of Fortune 100,000 followers Hafuri As the label says, this will allow your shinki to become a hafuri vessel - meaning that they would actively give their life for their god and prove it in order to become a stronger weapon. Hafuri vessels will become physically stronger and any powers that they originally had will increase as a result. The shinki will also get an additional power, to be approved by the mods. This title change can be asked for well in advance and then held on to until the perfect moment to improve your shinki arises. God of Fortune This proves that your god has enough followers to be considered a God of Fortune. As such, they will become physically stronger, have a higher ranking in the Heavens, and gain the ability to meet with any and every god one-on-one without any other regain (ie Private Meeting). The god will get also get an additional special power to be approved by the mods, worthy of their title as a God of Fortune! Both of the titles do not require a character to spend Available points in order to earn them. Once a character's Total Experience (for Shinki) or Followers (for Gods) as documented on the Monthly Tag Count reaches the amounts described above, you can put in a Title request.
